Dear Users,
We are proud to announce the release of a new AVISO+ dataset, the "Mesoscale Eddy Trajectory Atlas" product.
This dataset was developed and validated in collaboration with D.Chelton and M. Schlax at Oregon State University. The SSALTO/DUACS team is now running the routine product generation and distribution formerly carried out by OSU.
This dataset includes the tracks of eddies detected and monitored in the multimission "2-satellite" delayed-time DUACS products with additional information such as speed, radius, or eddy type (cyclonic/anticyclonic). The file format used is derived from the NetCDF formerly used by OSU. Some improvements were added to the algorithm and the product timeliness should be improved with respect to previous releases.
For more information, please refer to the web page and the product handbook.
To access the data, you can either use the registration form at http://www.aviso.altimetry.fr/en/data/data-access/registration-form.html or request the addition of this product to your account by contacting aviso@altimetry.fr
Note that this dataset is experimental, so all feedbacks are welcome to help us understand how this product is used by the community, and to improve the algorithm, production and validation processes.
Best regards,
